After recording a music video to Pharrell Williams' "Happy":
Overall, I would say the lip sync was much harder than anticipated. the pacing of the song in comparison to the lip sync in noticeable in the final product in some places.
As well as this, I mismatched some lyrics which removes continuity from the practical test. one challenge I faced was keeping the lip sync in time with the song itself, I found myself singing too quickly and had sudden moments where I forgot the lyrics. I overcame this by repeating the song in my head and actually sang to the song as opposed to mouthing the lyrics which made the video look more realistic and better timed.
I have now learnt about the processes that are taken when lip syncing and now know how to improve my own attempts, this can either be through listening to the song multiple times or singing the song whilst lip syncing.
In terms of the video itself, a variety of shots such as walking shots and side angles were used throughout which added variety and made the video more professional, which will be helpful when it comes to the production of the anthemic music video selected.
In conclusion, I am happy with the finished product as, for the first practical lip sync, the quality is far better than I expected since the editing went smoothly and I was able to successfully overcome the challenges presented. However, it is evident that I am listening to the song whilst lip syncing through the use of the earphone, for the end product I must learn the pacing of the song without the earphone.
